    It's not from scratch but Wal Mart sells a Trail Mix product that's pretty large and just as cheap as making it your self. I like it cus it's got lots of M&M's.

    Safeway has a great selection on dried fruits and nuts. Usually I will pick 2-3 fruits (pinapple, mango, etc), and two nuts (madacadamia and walnuts)....throw in a big plastic container....shake and woollaaaahhh! There you have your instant trail mix....not hard either.

      I like putting in sunflower kernels or roasted peanuts as well, but unsalted is preferred. I think chocolate is a staple in any GORP recipe..!

      I usually end up getting the Swiss Mix from Ann's House of Nuts when I haven't the time to make it myself. There's a good mix of energy foods and sweet-tooth treats to keep you moving.
